Army volunteers give Bricker Elementary a fresh look

Bricker Elementary will look a lot different to students and teachers when they return for a new school year in August.

More than 30 soldiers from Fort Carson volunteered their time over two days and painted the hallways and classrooms at the school.

Bricker students raised money throughout the school year to fund the project, helping with the purchase of paint and supplies.

To finish the job, 35 soldiers from FFC Alpha Company 52nd Brigade stepped in and made sure every hallway and classroom had at least one coat of fresh paint.

School staff said they were unsure when the last time fresh paint was applied, but that students will be excited when they see the new and updated look.
