The Board of Education is excited to announce the next step in appointing district leadership during our superintendent search. The district will move forward during the search with a paired leadership model consisting of two Chief Operating Officers. The board has chosen Dr. Wendy Birhanzel and Mr. John Rogerson to fill those roles until a new superintendent is hired.
Dr. Birhanzel is the current D2 Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Officer and previously served as principal of Centennial Elementary and Wildflower Elementary. Dr. Birhanzel has served more than 18 years in public education and holds a Doctorate of Education from the University of Southern California. In her new role, she will lead elementary education and be the primary interface to the Board.
Mr. Rogerson is the Principal of Fox Meadow Middle School, holds a Masters of Education Administration from Capella University, and has more than 20 years of experience in education. He will lead secondary education and work closely with Dr. Birhanzel to enable decision-making, maintain transparency, and support coherent governance.
The Board will continue to communicate with you as it develops the structure for our Superintendent search.
The District is excited to welcome Dr. Birhanzel and Mr. Rogerson as the District’s Chief Operating Officers and eager to move forward under their guidance.
