Hey parents, have you heard of AVID?

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a system that helps all students become organized with their academics and beyond. AVID stresses building writing skills, learning through inquiry, collaborating with others, being well-organized throughout all we do and strengthens reading through various deep reading strategies.

The AVID Elective class meets daily and is considered a core class in a student’s daily schedule. Once identified, AVID students will be in the AVID curriculum and Elective AVID class throughout their school career. AVID seeks the middle range student, but any student who has a strong work ethic is eligible to apply.

AVID Elective classrooms are at each of our Middle and High Schools. Sites will be sending AVID information home as part of the normal scheduling process in the spring.
