Carmel Falcons- Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!

I am Amanda Wermers and honored to serve as Principal of this amazing school! This is my 11th year in education, and my 8th year within Harrison School District Two, first as a teacher at Harrison High School and then as the International Baccalaureate Coordinator at Carmel Middle School. I also spent four years as a teacher in the Douglas County School District. I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont in family and consumer sciences education and my master's degree from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs in educational leadership.

I believe wholeheartedly that every student is capable of excellence and deserves a high- quality education and that only happens when the school and families work together for the best interests of our students. It is my vision to establish a culture where all students, staff and families are valued, supported and appreciated. Together we will empower all students with the education and skills necessary to be successful in their life journey. Be the Difference!

I invite families, community members and stakeholders to visit the school any time. Your presence is welcome, and we are eager to share our story with you. You may contact me at awermers@hsd2.org, or (719) 579-3212.

I look forward to a successful year working with you and our students.
