Principal - Kimberly Easdon

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I am thrilled to be serving as your child’s principal and am excited to meet each of you as we begin another year together. My name is Kim Easdon, and I have worked for Harrison School District #2 for the past 23 years, 21 of which have been at Soaring Eagles. I am honored to be the Principal of Soaring Eagles, where I have been fortunate to have spent the majority of my career in the capacity of teacher, literacy coach, and assistant principal. At Soaring Eagles, we believe that it takes a village to raise a child. Teachers, parents, students, and administration must work together as one, with an open mind and commitment to communicating the needs of our students.

Soaring Eagles pledges to provide a secure environment that engages all learners in aspiring to realize their potential. Our instruction includes the arts, physical education, computer coding/information, Spanish, science, social studies, reading, writing, and math. Our before and after-school programs vary from year to year but include STEM activities, French, Girls on the Run, Math, Journalism, intramurals, computers, art, music, and much more.  We require 120 minutes of literacy and 90 minutes of math instruction to ensure that students are ready for their future education once they leave Soaring Eagles.

Our many awards include two National Blue Ribbons, two CDE's High Achievers Awards, four Best of the Springs, three John Irwin Awards, and two National Title 1 School. These awards are a testament to the work that our students, staff members, teachers, and administrators put in each day to meet our rigorous academic goals.  In addition, for the last five years, the Colorado Department of Education has used us as a site for its Connect for Success Program.  Through the CFS program, Colorado schools visit us to see the practices that make us a successful school.

PERSONAL

As our three daughters are grown, my husband Kelly and I are enjoying our new phase of life and watching our family grow. In recent years, we have been joined by three wonderful sons-in-law, four handsome grandsons, and a beautiful granddaughter. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, running, hiking, and playing with my rambunctious grandchildren.
