Harrison School District 2 strives to provide a safe setting conducive to the primary objective of student learning. All staff members with Harrison School District are made aware of their role in this comprehensive security system. Students and staff regularly review school crisis plans, communicate possible dangers and practice safety drills in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
All exterior doors, excluding the main entrances to our schools, remain closed during school hours and our staff is equipped with a personal Harrison School District photo ID. Harrison School District believes the best security any school district can provide is the active participation of its employees and the willingness of students to communicate possible danger to an adult.
HSD2 has developed an emergency response plan that aligns with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) in 2008 and updated it in 2019.
