Amy Bonine

It has been an honor to serve Otero for the last decade as an instructional leader. As your community's principal, I take great pride in student growth, academic achievement, character development, creating a safe and inclusive culture and building partnerships. As I finish my eighteenth year in education, I continue to strive to make a difference in the lives of staff, students, and families by establishing life-long relationships and effective communication. Prior to instructional leadership in Harrison School District, I spent 8 years as a special education teacher in Widefield School District. As a Michigan native, I received my Bachelor of Arts at Grand Valley State University. After moving to Colorado, I pursued my love of learning and received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, followed by a Principal Licensure program at the University of Phoenix-Colorado Springs.

When I am not with my Otero Panther family, I can be found at the ballpark watching my two Most Valuable Players, Jackson (12) and Maddie (10). As a family, we also enjoy traveling to Michigan to visit family or playing in the beautiful Colorado outdoors with our 3 dogs, Sophie, Harper and Blue.

I promise to continue being committed to the Harrison Vision to ensure strong classroom structures with quality instruction in every classroom, maintaining a focus on recruiting and retaining highly effective staff, and creating a community of equality and respect.

I look forward to working collectively and diligently to meet your high expectations.

    Sincerely,
    Amy Bonine
