Dear Oak Creek families,
I am honored to return as the principal of Oak Creek for the 2020-2021 school year. My name is Linda Donaldson and I am proud to say that this is my 31st year in Harrison School District. I started my career in Harrison right out of college. I attended the University of Northern Colorado for my undergraduate work and then attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs for my Masters. Teaching and learning have always been my passion! Most people say that the best part of an educator’s job is having the summers off. Well, I disagree with that statement. The best part of an educator’s job to me is having students in the building. It is exciting to hear and see the learning that takes place throughout the day. When our little people “get” something, they have a huge smile on their faces. When teachers know that they have touched a child’s life, they have a glow about them as well. A school is not a school until it is filled with people, young and old, learning, discussing, and supporting one another. I have always been a firm believer in “your job title doesn’t matter”. If you work in the building, you have a direct impact on the lives of students. We all come together on the same page to do what is best for our students.
I have two children of my own and two dogs (Chewy and Scoop). My daughter was a gymnast and recently graduated from Winona State University in Minnesota. She now lives and works in Denver, CO. My son is a senior and runs track at Western University in Gunnison. When I am not at work, I love to recline and watch shows like CSI, NCIS, Lock up, Live PD, Criminal Minds, and football! GO BEARS!
I look forward to another great year! Our students are better because of the involvement that we have from our parents and the community.
As a school, we will continue to instill grit and a passion for learning in our students. We will continue to build relationships, collaborate with our families, and set high expectations for all.
We are Oak Creek!
Ms. Linda Donaldson
