Ms. Jill Bishop

Greetings from the art room Turman Friends and Family! My name is Jill Bishop, and this is my 21st year teaching in Harrison School District. I am SO happy to be a part of the Turman family. The staff and students at Turman are beyond compare!  

The fourth quarter will bring lots of creativity and artistic opportunity to Turman’s young artists.  Kindergartners will be using their new-found art skills to create flowers based on the works of Georgia O'Keefe.  Our first graders are busy drawing masks from the culture of their choice. Second graders are painting Greek vases showing movement. Third grade is creating self-portraits based on the works of either Faith Ringgold or Frida Kahlo. Fourth graders are exploring Japanese art using various ink and watercolor techniques. Fifth grade is creating a fantastic 3-D recreation of King Tut's sarcophagus. 

I look forward to seeing everyone at our culture night on May 11, 2023 to enjoy artwork from around the world as created by all of our talented young artists!
