Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Jill Bishop

Greetings from the art room Turman Friends and Family! My name is Jill Bishop, and this is my 20th year teaching in Harrison School District and my FIRST year at Turman elementary. I am so happy to join the Turman family and to have a new creative adventure with the talented Turman students. My first semester at Turman has been an absolute joy! The staff and students at Turman are beyond compare!

The fourth quarter will bring lots of creativity and artistic opportunity to Turman’s young artists. Our AMAZING Kindergartners will be telling stories with their art based on books we've read. Our first graders are creating cultural art including masks. Second graders have been focusing on showing movement in their art while studying the works of Keith Haring. Third grade designed their own self portrait based on the works of either African American artist Faith Ringgold or famed Mexican artist Frida Khalo. Fourth graders celebrated Asian art with a traditional pen and ink project. Fifth grade recreated an amazing 3-D version of King Tut's sarcophagus.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in the Turman Family at our Cultural Family Night and Art Show on May 5, 2022!

See you in the art room! ~Jill Bishop, Art Teacher
