eLearning at Soaring Eagles Elementary

  • eLearning Daily Schedule and Attendance

    • School hours at Soaring Eagles Elementary:
      • Mondays: 10:05 am -3:35 pm
      • Tuesday-Friday 8:35 am -3:35 pm.
    • eLearning schedules have been shared via Class Dojo, are posted in CANVAS, and have been sent home with students.  If you have any questions about your child's schedule please reach out to their classroom teacher. 
    • Students need to login to IC and check themselves in for daily attendance (teachers will provide reminders throughout the school day for them to do so)

    eLearning Instructional Overview

    • All eLearning students are provided a Chromebook, charger, and a kit of instructional and school supplies to use at home (notebooks, whiteboards, markers, highlighters, post its, math workbooks, reading materials, etc)
    • eLearners are provided a daily schedule with required Livestream sessions (synchronous learning) focused on reading, writing, and math. Additional Livestream sessions are available for small group support and/or interventions
    • Outside of required Livestream times, students will find mini-lessons in CANVAS (asynchronous learning) for all four of our "Specials" classes (Art, Music, Spanish, and P.E.), as well as additional class assignments and online programs that support reading, writing, and/or math

    eLearning Social-Emotional Support

    • Our counselor has set up an age-appropriate CANVAS page for all K-2 and 3-5 students.  All students have access to the appropriate page and will have bi-weekly class meetings with our counselor. 
    • A website has also been developed to help direct families to a variety of different resources-- Soaring Eagles Elementary Counseling Program. 
    • Teachers will also provide opportunities throughout the day for community-building classroom activities, which may take the form of a Morning Meeting, Class Meeting, SEL Time, or a Class Check-in.

    • The HSD2 Technology Department has developed a variety of resources to support eLearners and their families: eLearning Support for Parents
    • Families can submit "Help Tickets" via the student portal at my.hsd2.org.
    • The Family Help Desk can be reached by dialing 719-579-2106
      • Office Hours are 8:00 am- 4:00 pm Monday-Friday.
