Mrs. Archuleta
Hello! My name is Susan Archuleta, I am a native of Colorado. I grew up in Elizabeth, CO, and graduated from Kiowa High School. After high school, I went to Otero Junior College, La Junta, CO, where I played basketball for two years and then transferred to UCCS and played basketball for another year and earned my BA in psychology and my MA in Special Education! I am married to my amazing husband, Bernie of 17 years. We have 2 children, Jonas 16, and Violet 14, 3 dogs and 2 chinchillas and enjoy doing anything as a family. I started my experience with teaching special education at a residential facility. After that experience I jumped into public education; I taught for 6 years at a charter school as a general education teacher, 2 years in third grade and 4 years in Kindergarten. Being a lifelong learner, I went back to school and received my Masters in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) and taught Colorado Preschool Program (CPP) for 10 years. I LOVE teaching preschool, but my PASSION is special education, so I started teaching in the K-5 Significant Support Needs (SSN) classroom. This is my 20th year teaching altogether. I strive to build positive relationships with not only my students but their families as well. I look forward to working with you and your student!
