    Congratulations to Porschae Chitmon-Turner, our Teacher of the Week!

    Porschae is irreplaceable at Harrison. This year, she has taken on the new Film and Lit class with rave reviews, taken an overseas trip involving students and community members, all while running yearbook and teaching English. Ms. Turner's students trust and love her because they know how dedicated, hard-working, and awesome she is.

    Brief Bio: Porschae Chitmon-Turner grew up in Colorado Springs. She considers Colorado Springs her home and loves having the mountains as her backdrop for inspiration. As a Colorado native, she attended Harrison High School which is where she now works as an English, Film and Literature and Yearbook teacher. This is her 6th year of teaching and she enjoys how much of teaching includes learning from students. She graduated from Colorado College with a B.A. in English. She recently received her M.A. in English from Arizona State University. Porschae is an avid reader and dog lover. She is passionate about seeing students succeed and reach their full potential. Porschae is also a mentor for a college mentor program called Elevated. This program seeks to provide African American students a road map for their future. She is also an alum of Peak Education, a Colorado Springs program that serves to educate students on the many ways they can be successful and also give back to their community.

    Congratulations to Rachelle Decker, our Staff Member of the Week!

    Rachelle is an integral part of the success of Harrison High School. She has built great relationships with students and works hard to ensure our families know we are committed to the social and emotional well-being of their kids.

    Brief Bio: Ms. Rachelle grew up in Michigan then moved with her family to Colorado Springs. She likes to go on adventures in the mountains, explore neighboring states hiking trails, and to visit fun landmarks. She received her high school diploma through the New Horizons Program with HSD2. Rachelle then received a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Southern New Hampshire University and is currently working on her master’s degree in Finance with a concentration in stocks and investments from Southern New Hampshire University. She enjoys working with students and helping them grow to become successful young adults.
