CARMEL UNIFORM DRESS POLICY

  • Students at Carmel Middle School are expected to demonstrate professionalism by wearing a school approved uniform. They are expected to dress in a way that contributes to a healthy social environment and an academic atmosphere.

    CMS Tops Permitted

    • Solid black, navy blue, or white polo shirt (short and long-sleeved)
    • Blue CMS logo polo shirt (available for purchase)
    • Solid black, navy blue, or white crew neck sweatshirt
    • Blue CMS hoodie (available for purchase)

    CMS Bottoms Permitted

    • Solid black, navy blue, or khaki pants (must have pockets)
    • Solid black, navy blue, or khaki shorts (must fall below fingertips, must have pockets)
    • Solid black, navy blue, or khaki skirt/skorts (must fall below fingertips)
    • Solid black, navy blue, or khaki capri pants (must have pockets)
    • Solid blue jeans (on spirit days only)

    Uniform Dress Not Permitted

    • Jeans with rips, holes, tears, or are brightly colored
    • Leggings or jogger-type sweatpants, gym clothes
    • Logos on crew neck sweatshirt
    • Jackets, non-CMS hoodies, logo crew neck sweatshirts, non-uniform outside clothing (must be left in locker)
    • Excessively baggy or tight clothing
    • Exposed underwear
    • Open-toed shoes including flip-flops, slides, crocs, or Birkenstocks
    • Hoods worn on school grounds
    • Inappropriate or distracting clothing or jewelry (including drugs, alcohol, sex, violence and/or media images)
    • Hats, sunglasses, bandanas or do-rags
    • Writing or drawing on their own or another person’s skin, clothing

    Spirit Day
    On Fridays and scheduled Spirit Days, students may wear solid blue jeans free of rips, tears, and holes with a CMS logo polo, CMS t-shirt, and/or CMS hoodie. Student-athletes may wear their CMS sports jersey with uniform bottoms on game day only (coach’s discretion)
