A little about me
We have lived in Colorado for 11 years and have been at MVHSA most of that time. I have a husband named Patrick and two children, Gretchen (26), and Greysen (21). I love to hike, play tennis and pickle ball. I also love to paint, draw, explore restaurants, go to the theatre and music. I love to see friends and family, especially at LuLu's, my brother's music venue/bar.
My goal at MVHSA is to challenge every student to create from their heart and imagination. Hopefully your student will to try to get lost in the process, rather than stuck on the end result. Most of the jobs of the future involve some sort of creativity and the art room is a place to experience, plan and bring a project to fruition. I am an artist and a teacher; I love children and imparting my love for art to people of all ages. My life revolves around Art.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Education from Albion College, (Art, Consumer, Nutrition and Physical Education), and a Masters Degree from University of Phoenix in Administration/Supervision. I have my Principal License but plan to stay in the Art room for as long as possible. I have dabbled in Real Estate, Art Sales and In Home art lessons. I was a stay at home mother for 8 years and the President of the Foundation in La Jolla before we moved here. My son attended MVHSA in 8th Grade. I love to learn and am always looking for ways to create and use different media to improve my drawing and painting skills. I love to design jewelry, paint with wax and acrylic, sculpt with wire, and basically do anything that involves the creative process. I look forward to a wonderful year filled with art experiences, exploration, experimentation.
All the best,
