BOYS & GIRLS CLUB: The Club
The Boys & Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region is a Youth Development organization that implements after school programs in a strategic way to build self-confidence, self-esteem, and fosters a sense of belonging, competence, usefulness, and influence. Since 1888, our organization has devoted itself to providing the youth of the Pikes Peak Region with a safe place to learn and grow. The Boys & Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region is dedicated to ensuring that our community’s young people ages 5-18, who are most in need of our help, have greater access to quality programs and services that help them succeed academically, live healthy lifestyles, and become great leaders.
The Club, in particular, is just for teens 13-18 years. It’s a place where teens can jump in, have fun, make friends, and get involved in programs that make a positive difference in their own lives, and in the lives of others. Programs are based on physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs, and interests of girls and boys, and recognized developmental principles. The Club offers programs that are developmentally sound in five program areas: Character and Leadership Development; Health and Life Skills; Education and Career Development; Sports, Fitness and Recreation; and The Arts.
We understand that teenagers can have a hard time fitting in. They aren’t kids, but they aren’t quite adults - and it’s tough being stuck in that “in-between” place. At The Club, we treat our teens like the young adults they are. We focus on getting teens ready for the real world by assisting them with scholarship, leadership and community outreach opportunities, while providing them with a safe, caring environment blended with friends and fun!
Here at the Boys & Girls Club, we build meaningful relationships with our teens to empower them to become leaders and to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
