• Odyssey of the Mind is a problem solving challenge. Student work in a group of 5-7 students to solve a long term problem (takes all year to create a solution) and a spontaneous challenge (releaved at competition, taking 15 minutes tops to solve).

We will be hosting a parents night in August to show what the group is about. We have around 20 spots open for 3rd-5th grade, and 7 spots open for K-2.

  • Battle of the Books will start practice on August 21. Students will get a book list along with picking a book to read.

Pracitce will always be on Wednesday for about an hour, closer to competition practices will be extended to allow for quizzing time.

Reminder: Battle of the Books is a reading competition where students are required (as a team) to read 40 books and compete by answering questions. These questions are TOUGH! So make sure to take your time and read!!

Mrs. Probasco

Welcome to my page! I am so happy you took the time to look through it. Getting to be a 5th grade teacher this year is definitely my dream job! I worked as a Moderate Needs Teacher for the past two years at Stratmoor Hills. I have loved every moment of it. I look forward to what this year will bring.

Although I was orginally born in Colorado Springs, I don't claim this state as home. My father was Army, so we spent a lot of time moving around. I actually claim Alabama as my home state (we lived there the longest). In college I met my amazing husband, who is Air Force, and we were on the road again. We luckily got settled in Colorado Springs and plan to stay with his career. This gave me the greatest opportunity to teach at Stratmoor Hills after going through a teacher program. My degree work and background is in psychology.

If you ever need to contact me, email is the best way or using classtag. cprobasco@hsd2.org

Onward to a wonderful school year!
