The Basics:

Hello, I am Maggie O’Connell and I am the CLDE (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education) teacher at Otero Elementary.  I work with children who are seeking to increase their English proficiency level.  In our classes we participate in activities designed to build oral proficiency, as well as engaging in listening, reading and writing activities.

I grew up in New Jersey and attended Rutgers University where I joined Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps.)  After graduating college, I spent some time in the military as a Quartermaster Officer, and I met my husband Dan.  As a military family we have been stationed in Germany, Alaska and Colorado, and have raised four awesome kids.  This is my first year of teaching and I am looking forward to sharing my diverse experiences with the children of Otero Elementary.
