Monthly Partnership Spotlight

Solid Rock Community Development Corporation

At Harrison School District 2, community partnerships are at the heart of how we support student success—and Solid Rock Community Development Corporation is one of our most impactful allies.

Supporting D2 Students and Families

Solid Rock’s Community Food Center is a lifeline for many of our families, actively providing food to D2 schools and helping to combat food insecurity across the district. Their support ensures that students can focus on learning, not where their next meal is coming from.

They’re also investing in the future of our students through a dedicated college scholarship for graduating seniors at Sierra High School—offering a crucial stepping stone toward higher education and lifelong success.

This partnership is rooted in innovation, too. In a shared effort to promote sustainability and real-world learning, Harrison School District 2 donated land for Solid Rock to build an aquapod farm—a cutting-edge facility that will provide fresh produce and serve as an educational resource for students and the broader community.

Driving Change in Southeast Colorado Springs

Beyond their work with D2, Solid Rock CDC is a powerful force for good in Southeast Colorado Springs. They’re addressing housing insecurity head-on with affordable housing solutions like the Village at Solid Rock—a 77-unit income-based community that offers safe, stable living with family-friendly amenities.
Solid Rock also brings healthy, accessible food to the region through free community farmers markets, and they’re building long-term economic strength through resident-focused programs like financial literacy training and the Community Investment Trust. This one-of-a-kind initiative allows residents to invest in commercial real estate in their own neighborhood—planting seeds for generational wealth and empowerment.

A Model for Community Impact

From meeting basic needs to creating new opportunities, Solid Rock CDC is helping our students, families, and neighbors thrive. We are proud to partner with an organization that leads with purpose, builds with heart, and works every day to make Southeast Colorado Springs stronger.
