Vision & Hearing Screenings
Every year, students in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th grades are screened for vision and hearing. You will be notified if your child fails either vision or hearing screenings. Once you receive a referral letter you will need to take your child to be further evaluated by an eye doctor and/or an audiologist as needed.
Contact the health paraprofessional at your assigned school if you need help finding affordable eye care or financial assistance with eye care. You may be eligible for a gift certificate or a free eye exam and eyeglasses through the Sight for Students Program. Some locations offer reduced or free eyewear. See below for further resources.
