School nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development, promote health and safety, intervene in actual and potential health problems, provide case management services, and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self-advocacy, and learning.
It is very important to communicate your child's health care needs with the school staff. Your child's health history should be reviewed and updated annually. If your child has an allergy (such as food allergy), asthma, seizures, diabetes, or any other significant medical conditions, please relay this information with the school your child will be attending. This information will be detrimental to the safety of your child while they are attending school.
