The United Way has a confidential and multilingual service connecting people to resources across the state called 2-1-1 Colorado. 211 Colorado can connect you to critical resources (updated daily) simply by dialing a three-digit number – 2-1-1. With the increased demand for services, community members have been experiencing longer wait times. Connecting online is the most expedient way to access this resource.
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Harrison School District Two (HSD2) is coordinating with El Paso County Public Health and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment as we monitor the global outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath. There is no vaccine for COVID-19.
In addition to this recent concern, HSD2 would like to remind families and employees to be vigilant about the prevalence of Influenza and cold season as well. These illnesses, along with COVID-19, spread through coughing and sneezing and have similar symptoms of fever, cough, and respiratory illness.
We also encourage you to refer to reliable sources for ongoing information as this incident is rapidly evolving. HSD2 will update staff and families via email and our website with any new information we need to share. Emergency notifications would come via text, social media, the District app, and website.
