Program Overview

  • The Dakota Promise Program provides free college tuition at Pikes Peak State College and academic support to every qualifying high school graduate in Harrison School District 2.

    How it works
If you graduate from a Harrison School District 2 high school with a 2.25 GPA, you may be eligible for free tuition at Pikes Peak State College for up to two years. The Dakota Promise Program may also pay for fees, books, supplies, and transportation. The program funding support is secondary to Pell Grant Funding.

In addition to financial assistance, students may receive intensive support from professional student success coaches.

To be eligible for the program, students must complete high school with a 2.25 or better GPA, enroll at PPSC within 16 months of graduation, complete a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year, and complete a FAFSA and apply for the Pell Grant. The Dakota Promise Program may pay the difference between what the Pell Grant will cover of tuition and fees. Students must also maintain a 2.0 or better GPA to remain eligible to continue the program.
