Chemical Hygiene Plan
The Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP) is a document that is required by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment. It acts as the foundation for a safe and effective chemical program, and is designed to aid staff and students in maintaining a safe environment. For CHP compliance, all middle and high schools will be inspected on an annual basis and elementary schools will be inspected once every 3 years.
The CHP covers the acquisition of chemicals, general rules and procedures, inventory and tracking, proper chemical storage, disposal of hazardous materials, and what to do in case of an accidental spill. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the CHP, please feel free to contact our office at (719) 579-2045.
