  • Our mission is to provide students with a restorative culture and a plan of study that focuses on academic and personal development, so when students graduate they are college or career ready.

The Career Readiness Academy is a program designed to support all students in learning through both online classes and hands-on instruction. Our district supports a variety of learning models because we know that not everyone learns the same way. Our online courses are aligned to common core and provide students with a rigorous learning experience.

New to Career Readiness Academy are our Career Education and WorkKeys classes. Career Education is designed to prepare students for employment through career exploration, resumé building, and site trips to local businesses to provide the learner with hands-on real world experiences while connecting their talents, interests, and aptitudes to the economic landscape. Students will have opportunities to do job shadowing, internships, paid and unpaid, as well as apprenticeships. Learning about work, learning through work, and learning at work with additional credits earned through that work experience. Career Readiness Academy is here to help you explore your future!

ACT WorkKeys classes prepare our students for the ACT WorkKeys assessments needed to meet the menu of options required for graduation. This assessment tests students' job skills in applied reading, writing, mathematics and 21st century skills. Scores are based on job profiles that help employers select, hire, train, develop and retain a high-performance workforce. Students must score at the bronze level (a score of at least 3) in all three assessments - Applied Mathematics, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents - and they will earn the ACT's National Career Readiness Certificate.

Students are also able to participate in high school elective courses with Sierra High School, such as Art, Band, Choir, Drama, and Culinary Arts.
