Ms. Jill Bishop

Greetings from the art room Turman Friends and Family! My name is Jill Bishop, and this is my 22nd year teaching in Harrison School District Two. I am SO happy to be a part of the Turman family. The staff and students at Turman are beyond compare!

The first quarter will bring lots of creativity and artistic opportunity to Turman’s young artists.  Kindergartners will be creating art using the primary colors, "Red, Yellow, Blue; I love You!".  The works of Joan Miro and Paul Klee will inspire our first graders to use organic and geometric shapes in their art. Second graders are blending oil pastels in a still life. Third grade is creating abstract self-portraits before moving on to realistic. Using size to create perspective within a landscape is fourth grade's new challenge. Fifth grade is emphasizing a focal point using one of five methods (size, color, placement, light and repetition).

Keep your eyes on the hallways to enjoy the artwork created by our talented young artists!

See you in the art room! ~Jill Bishop, Art Teacher
