Turman Elementary School is a tight-knit neighborhood school located near Jetwing and Academy. We have small class sizes, allowing us to differentiate our instruction to better meet student needs. We also provide substantial support for our students through small group interventions, special education programs, and services for students learning English as a second language. Our school property shares a border with the Deerfield Community Center and we have a variety of programs and events that reflect the strong partnership we have with them. Character development and emotional health and well-being are important components of a child’s education. We utilize Responsive Classroom, ensure a rich offering of specials courses (PE, Art, Music), and have a counselor and social worker providing lessons to classes and additional small group support. We offer free before and after school care, have clubs that appeal to a variety of interests, and opportunities for after-school tutoring for children. Turman Elementary School provides a warm and caring community where children have the opportunity to thrive!
