Parents Right to Know
As a parent in a Title I school, you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teacher who instructs your child(ren), including:
Additionally, if a student in a Title I school is being instructed--for longer than four consecutive weeks--by a teacher/substitute who does not fulfill the "highly qualified" requirements as set forth by NCLB, a letter informing the student's parents of this information must be sent in a timely manner.
Title I Parent Resource Center:
Title I operates a District Parent Resource Center, located at 610 Brookshire Ave (behind Stratton Meadows Elementary School - MAP). The Title I Parent Resource Center provides various activities, materials, and opportunities to teach parents how to work more effectively with their children at home. To enhance learning, videos, cassette tapes, books, puzzles, brochures, computers, games, professional books, and manipulatives for developing reading and/or math skills are available for checkout. Parents may also use equipment and supplies to contruct learning activities to be used at home. If you need assistance, please call 719-579-2301.

The Colorado Parent Information and Resource Center (CPIRC)
CPIRC is a state Parent Information Resource Center located in Denver. It is funded by a grant from the United States Department of Education to assist parents in all schools in Colorado. The center offers research-based parental practices and programs to improve student achievement, training and support services to families and educators, coordinates collaboration efforts and informs parents of the NCLB Act.
