Andre D. Spencer - Superintendent

Before joining Harrison School District Two, Andre D. Spencer was the Regional Superintendent with the Houston Independent School District for 2 ½ years. Houston served 205,000 students and Mr. Spencer was responsible for 15 schools, their budget, capital improvements, instructional technology enhancements, supervision and support for the principals to increase student achievement. Mr. Spencer is an educational leader that strongly believes that all children deserve a quality education that will enable them to become productive learners within society. Furthermore, he believes that it is critical that all schools promote a culture of good teaching and learning that is led by a highly competent and effective leader.

Mr. Spencer has served in the Army and worked in the Baltimore Public Schools for 13 years as a Science Teacher, Principal, and Area Support Superintendent. Baltimore Public Schools served 85,000 students.

Some of his exemplary accomplishments in Houston were: Associate Faculty at Johns Hopkins University; Graduate of National Alliance of Black School Educators Aspiring Superintendents Institute; and Coordinator of Schools with iPad, iPod and Kinetics Xbox360 Technology Initiatives.
